Our family was recently discussing our favorite and least favorite memories of childhood here in our tribe. We decided that we have we have called “the puke New Year” was our worst so far. We had been so excited one Christmas season as we looked forward with great anticipation to a New Year’s Eve campout with about thirty other families at Disney’s Ft. Wilderness. We had been planning this trip all year and had every detail ready to go. A few days after Christmas, (before our trip), we decided to hit Disney to see all of the lights and decorations. We even stayed very late, despite the cold temperatures, to see the Holiday Light Parade. My husband and I decided that we would even get parent of the year awards from the random strangers we saw at IHOP at 2:30 AM as we let the kids go in and have hot cocoa on the way home! Well, apparently all the cold weather hit us harder than we thought because within twelve hours of getting home we began to drop like flies. The flu hit us, one by one, all within twenty four hours. We spent the next two days all together on the living room floor. Sadly, that is where you found us that New Year’s Eve, instead of camping at Disney. So, we called it “Happy puke Year!” and it has been decided that it was the least favorite memory with the funniest name!
